Check into your hotel room on arrival in Haridwar and after freshening up, set out to visit Har Ki Pauri for the grandiosely impressive evening Ganga Aarti. Stroll through the local markets and settle in for the night.

Day 2: Haridwar-Rishikesh-Barkot
Enjoy breakfast and board the coach for the drive to Barkot, about 235 km away that will take all of 7 hours. On the way we stop at Rishikesh to visit Shivanand Ashram and the mythical Laxman Jhoola, also taking in Pramarth Niketan and Gita Bhavan. After lunch the coach drives onwards to Barkot, halting at Kempty Falls where guests stretch their legs and admire the lovely scenery. On arrival in Barkot you check into your hotel for the overnight stay.

Day 3: Barkot-Yamunotri-Barkot
Have a hearty breakfast because today is going to be strenuous. The coach takes you to Barkot, about 42 km away and then Hanumanchatti where everyone descends because the rest of the 7 km journey to Yamunotri will be covered either on foot or on horseback or in a doli (Charges for horseback and palanquin are to your account). Finally, we arrive at Yamunotri and devotees take a dip in the hot water kund prior to entering the temple. Yamunotri is usually the starting point of the char dham yatra and the Yamunotri temple is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. Some opt to cook rice in the hot water and take it back home as “prasad”. After Darshan the group returns to Hanumanchatti and boards the coach for the drive back to Barkot and sleep in the hotel.

Day 4: Barkot-Harsil (140 km)
Wake up early, breakfast and board the coach for the drive to Harsil, the starting point for the Gangotri yatra. On the way we stop at Vishwanath Temple situated in Uttarkashi to permit you to have darshan. Arrive in Harsil 6 hours later after covering the 140 km route over winding mountain roads and check into your hotel. You might want to venture out to admire the beauties of the surrounding mountains, forests of Deodar and the torrential Bhagirathi. Near Harsil there is Dharali, the winter home of Goddess Gangotri that you might want to visit.

Day 5: Harsil-Gangotri-Harsil (40 Km)
Breakfast over, the group sets out on the last leg of the journey to Gangotri, a distance of 40 km covered in 2 hours, all the while enjoying the magnificent view all around. Arrive at Gangotri and have darshan at the Gangotri temple dedicated to Goddess Ganga, who, it is said, descended to earth here and landed on the matted locks of Lord Shiva. Walk over to the river where you can view the submerged Shivling. The darshan over we return to Harsil for the overnight stay.

Day 6: Harsil-Haridwar
Enjoy breakfast and board the coach for the return drive to Haridwar where the Do Dham yatra organized by Namasteindiatripindia for you comes to an end. Our tour guide helps you on to the railway station or the airport.
