You will get trains like Rajdhani, Shatabdi, and Sampark Kranti from Delhi, Mumbai, and other cities. You can also go by Mahabodhi Express. It is a special train which runs between Gaya and New Delhi. It will take 15 to 16 hours to reach Gaya from Delhi. The best way to Reach Gaya

The best way to reach Gaya is by flight. Gaya has its own International airport connected with major cities in India and International destinations like Colombo, Singapore, and Paro. One can also get down at Patna Airport and hire taxis, cabs, or board trains to reach Gaya. The best part is there are direct flights from Delhi to Gaya. Air India also operates flights from Delhi- Gaya -Varanasi route.

You will also get numerous State-owned and privately-owned buses from cities like Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Patna, Kolkata, Hazaribagh, and Raurkela.

  • If you are in Patna to travel by road, then take the NH83 and SH69 routes. It will take about 4-5 hours to reach Gaya as they connect Gaya to the cities of Bihar. NH82 connects Gaya to Mokama. NH83 connects Gaya to Dhobi, Patna, and Jehanabad. NH2 connects Gaya to the other neighboring states. You can easily reach Delhi, Kolkata, Allahabad, Dhanbad, Varanasi, and Faridabad by using the NH2 route.

Gaya has good road infrastructure. The most popular local transport in Gaya is the Auto Rickshaw. You will find the biggest Auto Rickshaw stand outside Gaya Railway Station. The city also has a bus service.  If traveling to famous attractions, villages, or other towns, there is no problem in getting private taxis, auto rickshaws, and jeeps.
