India Customisable 2026 4 to 4 Days

Lakshadweep Tour Packages

Lakshadweep is a group of 36 coral islands in the Arabian Sea, 220 to 440 km off the Kerala coast. Our Lakshadweep tour packages cover stay, meals, sightseeing and transfers on islands such as Agatti, Bangaram, Thinnakara and Kadmat, for 4 nights 5 days or 6 nights 7 days.

A Lakshadweep trip needs more planning than most beach holidays in India. Every visitor needs an entry permit, the only airport is on Agatti, and rooms on the islands are limited. This page explains what each package covers, how the permit works after the April 2026 rule change, and how to get there.

Quick answer: most travellers fly from Kochi to Agatti, which takes about 1 hour 30 minutes. October to March is the best time, when the sea is calmest. Apply for the entry permit at least 14 days before you travel.

What the Packages Include

  • Stay in a resort or guesthouse on the islands

  • Meals

  • Sightseeing as listed in your itinerary

  • Transfers, which on Lakshadweep means boats between islands

Ask for a written list of exclusions with your quote. On Lakshadweep holiday packages, the items that most often sit outside the base price are flights to Agatti, the permit and heritage fees, and paid water sports such as scuba diving.

How to Pick a Package

  • First visit or a short break: the 4 nights / 5 days stay on Agatti. The airport is on the same island, so you do not lose a day to boat transfers.

  • More than one island: the Lakshadweep Islands Tour. It is the busiest plan of the four, because Kadmat is about 77 km from Agatti by fast boat.

  • A slower trip: the 6 nights / 7 days tour, which adds Kochi and Bangaram.

  • Lakshadweep honeymoon package or family tour: both are based on Agatti. Tell us who is travelling and we will suggest the room type and activities that fit. Couples comparing destinations.

Sample Day-Wise Plan

These two plans show how the days usually run. The final order depends on flight and boat timings, and we confirm it in writing with your quote.

  5. Day 5: Breakfast, then the flight out of Agatti.

Lakshadweep Entry Permit: 2026 Rules

Every visitor who is not a native of the islands needs an entry permit from the Lakshadweep Administration, and that includes Indian citizens. A circular dated 29 April 2026 made the process simpler: tourists no longer need a local sponsor or a police clearance certificate.

How to apply:

  1. Confirm your stay first. The application asks for details of your accommodation.

  2. Apply on the official e-permit portal (epermit.utl.gov.in) at least 14 days before you travel. One application can cover up to six people.

  3. Upload a valid ID such as an Aadhaar card.

  4. Pay the fees. The reported charges are a ₹50 application fee per person and a heritage fee of ₹200 for adults and ₹100 for ages 12 to 18. Check the final amount on the portal when you pay.

  5. Book your flight after the permit is approved, as the administration advises.

The portal is about to change. The current e-permit site states that it will be available only until 15 October 2026, after which permit services move to a new portal. If that address has stopped working, look for the entry permit page on lakshadweep.gov.in.

The permit allows entry only to the islands named on it and is generally valid for up to 30 days. Foreign nationals need a valid passport and an Indian tourist visa. Carry a printed copy of the permit with your ID.

You can apply yourself, or ask our team for help with the application when you book.

How to Reach Lakshadweep

Kochi is the main gateway. You can fly to Agatti or sail from Kochi.

By Air

Agatti has the only airstrip in Lakshadweep. Alliance Air and IndiGo fly daily from Kochi. IndiGo also flies from Bengaluru, and Fly91 from Goa and Kochi. The Kochi to Agatti flight takes about 1 hour 30 minutes.

Seats are limited and schedules change by season, so check the current timetable before you fix your dates.

By Ship

The Port, Shipping and Aviation department lists five all-weather passenger ships: MV Kavaratti, MV Arabian Sea, MV Lakshadweep Sea, MV Corals and MV Lagoons. The passage from Kochi takes 14 to 18 hours depending on the island. Cabins come in first class (two berths), second class (four berths) and air-conditioned seating.

If you prefer a Lakshadweep cruise package, the government-run Lakshadweep Samudram is a five-day trip on MV Kavaratti. It visits Kavaratti, Kalpeni and Minicoy by day, and you sleep on board.

Getting Between the Islands

Six high-speed craft connect the islands in the fair-weather season, 15 September to 15 May. They are withdrawn in the monsoon. During those months a helicopter carries flight passengers between Agatti and Kavaratti.

From Agatti to Distance How
Thinnakara 8 km to the north-east Boat
Bangaram Same lagoon as Thinnakara Boat
Kadmat About 77 km Fast boat
Minicoy About 300 km Ship

Boat timings depend on the sea that day. Keep a buffer before your return flight.

Best Time to Visit Lakshadweep

October to March is the best time, with a calm sea and clear water for snorkelling and diving. Fast boats between the islands run for longer, from 15 September to 15 May.

Months What to expect
October to March Calm sea and the busiest months. Government package rates go up by 10% in December.
April to mid May Warmer days, still good for water sports.
Mid May to mid September Monsoon. The high-speed craft between islands are withdrawn and the sea is rough.

Rooms on the islands fill early for the winter months. If your dates are not available, our Andaman tour packages are the other island holiday we plan in India.

Islands Covered in Our Packages

Agatti

Agatti is where you land, and all four packages start here. Its lagoon is used for snorkelling, kayaking and glass-bottom boat rides.

Bangaram

Bangaram is an uninhabited island of about 120 acres, ringed by a shallow lagoon and a coral reef. You reach it by boat from Agatti. A Praveg resort opened here on 18 January 2025, alongside the government cottages.

Thinnakara

Thinnakara is a small teardrop-shaped island 8 km north-east of Agatti. It shares its lagoon with Bangaram, so the two are usually visited together. Stays here are in tents or at the Praveg resort.

Kadmat

Kadmat is about 77 km from Agatti and is reached by fast boat. It has a full water sports institute, with scuba diving, windsurfing and parasailing.

Kavaratti

Kavaratti is the capital, with a marine aquarium and a museum. It is not part of the four packages above. Ask us if you want it added.

Things to Do in Lakshadweep

  • Snorkelling in the lagoons

  • Scuba diving

  • Kayaking

  • Glass-bottom boat rides

  • Village visits and local seafood, mostly tuna

For the scuba course at government dive centres, the minimum age is 14. You need to know swimming and carry a doctor's certificate that says you are fit to dive.

Water sports run only when the sea allows and are usually paid for on the spot.

Lakshadweep Tour Package Cost

Our Lakshadweep tour packages start from ₹24,999* per person on twin sharing. What you finally pay depends on four things:

  • Travel month. Government packages cost 10% more in December.

  • Island and resort. Resort stays on Bangaram and Thinnakara cost more than guesthouses on Agatti.

  • Flights to Agatti, if they are not part of your quote.

  • Paid activities such as scuba diving.

For comparison, these are the government rates:

Item Rate
Lakshadweep Samudram cruise, Diamond class, adult ₹42,500 plus 5% GST
Lakshadweep Samudram cruise, Gold class, adult ₹33,500 plus 5% GST
Entry permit application ₹50 per person
Heritage fee ₹200 for adults, ₹100 for ages 12 to 18

The Samudram fares apply from 1 October 2025 and rise by 10% in December.

Rules and Travel Tips

  • Alcohol rules changed in June 2026. The Lakshadweep Excise Regulation, 2026 replaced the old prohibition, so licence holders can now sell alcohol to people aged 21 or above. Ask your resort before you carry any.

  • Lakshadweep Tourism states that only BSNL covers the islands. Expect limited Wi-Fi.

  • Carry enough cash, because ATMs are few.

  • Do not pick up coral or take it home.

  • Dress modestly when you are away from the beach.

  • Rooms are limited across the islands, so book early for October to March.

  • Pack light cotton clothes, swimwear, sunscreen, a hat, water shoes and your regular medicines.

Booking and Cancellation

The order matters on a Lakshadweep trip, because the permit needs a confirmed stay and flights should wait for the permit.

  1. Send us your travel dates and the number of travellers.

  2. We share the day-wise plan, the resort options and the price in writing.

  3. Confirm the stay.

  4. Apply for the entry permit at least 14 days before travel.

  5. Book flights to Agatti once the permit is approved.

Boats and ships can be rescheduled when the sea is rough, so avoid tight connections on the day you return.

Our How to book page explains the steps on our side, and the payment options page lists how you can pay. Cancellation and refund terms are on our Terms and Conditions page. Ask for the terms that apply to your booking in writing before you pay.
