It is the perfect place for people deciding where to go on their honeymoon or spend some quality time with your family and friends or just go on a simple solo backpacking trip to get away from the city chaos.

The weather conditions in Nepal can be broadly put under the umbrella term- temperate type. Generally, no matter which time of the year you choose to visit Nepal, you shall be greeted with good weather conditions and a pleasant climatic condition.

If you are planning on a visit to Nepal then here is everything you need to know about the climatic condition here and the best time for you to visit:

Best Time to Visit Nepal:

People visit Nepal keeping in mind different perspectives and motives ranging from pilgrimages to adventure packed adrenaline pumping hikes and treks. Generally, people prefer to travel and explore this hill station of wonderment during the months of autumn to spring hence avoiding the biting heat (which is however less than the plains of India). Monsoon will also be a great time for you to explore this Himalayan land especially if you are traveling on a budget. During this time you will also be able to avail huge discounts on accommodations and get to see a serene side of Nepal that most tourists don’t get to see.

Spring is another perfect time for you to visit Nepal and explore its valleys and forests which is in full bloom during this time. The clear weather conditions and pleasant climate enables you to travel to various sightseeing places and also go on excursions to nearby places as well. Traveling to Nepal during the winter months offers a fantastic traveling experience along with low altitude hikes, treks and especially travels photography.

Nepal from December to February:

Nepal is home to a colorful and fabulous collection of wildlife, so when it comes to winter travel to Nepal make sure to visit the famous Chitwan national park and Bardia national park for forest walks and jungle safaris. You will spot some rare exotic winter birds and animals like elephants, rhinos; tigers, etc. If you are a wildlife lover then December to February is the perfect time to visit Nepal. Since these months offer cool, dry climatic conditions one can also explore places like Bandipur and Kathmandu easily and comfortably.

Be sure to carry good quality warm, cold weather outfits like puff jackets, warm sweaters, woollen socks, mufflers, etc. since it obviously and inevitably gets very cold during the winter season. High altitude trekking is however unreachable due to recurring snowfall that blocks the ways and trails.

Nepal from March to May:

With the end of the winter months a lot more pleasant and comfortable spring months commence. The months of March to May marks the peak travel season in Nepal and people from across the globe make their way here to check out this place which has adventure in its every corner. April is also the peak time for adventure enthusiasts to scale Mount Everest, go till the Mount Everest base camp, or even complete the Annapurna circuit, 2 of the most popular short treks. These are also the months when families and kids are on their vacation making it easier for them to travel to various holy shrines like Pashupatinath temple and especially check out the natural serene lake city of Pokhara.

Although the days around these months get warmer but by evening everything gets extremely pleasant. The climatic conditions here even during the peak summer months are so comfortable that the local houses here don’t even have fans. It is also a great time period for outdoor adventure fanatics to break through their limits and go beyond.

Nepal from June to August:

Summer is the perfect time to explore Nepal inside out. This is the time of the year when this place gets thronged with tourists from domestic to international destinations. One can get to know more about the culture and historical heritage that makes this place truly a unique addition to your bucket list. This is also a very safe place to explore during the monsoon months as you will get the best of all the views from anywhere. Wondering where to go during these months? Well, the most obvious answer would be to Shey-Phoksundo National Park, the country’s biggest and largest national park.

Since trekking and hiking activities are halted for the season due to muddy and slippery slopes the best you can do is go local and visit the museums, various cafes, try out the local cuisines, check out the local market places and so much more.

In all Nepal can be visited throughout the year if you know how and where to explore during the given season that you are planning to explore. There won’t be any dearth of places to visit and a good time is guaranteed no matter when you go, solo or with your family, friends and loved ones.
