Amarnath packages run only during the Yatra season announced by the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB). The 2026 Yatra ran from 3 July to 28 August. Helicopter services for pilgrims did not operate in 2025 or 2026, because the Yatra routes were declared a no-flying zone. The helicopter package is on hold until SASB allows flights again. In the two combination packages, Amarnath darshan follows whichever route options SASB permits that year.

What Decides Your Kashmir Tour Package Cost

  • Travel month- May, June, the tulip season and the Christmas to New Year weeks cost more than the other months.

  • Hotel category- A standard hotel, a premium resort in Gulmarg or Pahalgam and a houseboat are priced very differently.

  • Vehicle and group size- A bigger group shares the vehicle cost, so the per person price comes down.

  • Extras- Gondola tickets, pony rides and local union taxis are paid separately.

What Is Included in Our Kashmir Tour Packages

Inclusions change from package to package, so please check the quote we send you. Most of our Kashmir packages include-

  • Hotel or houseboat stay as per your itinerary

  • Breakfast and dinner

  • Airport or railway station pick up and drop, and sightseeing by private vehicle

Flights and train tickets, Gulmarg Gondola tickets, pony rides, local union taxis in Pahalgam and Sonamarg, and monument entry fees are usually not included.

How Many Days You Need for a Kashmir Trip

Many first-time visitors try to cover four places in three days and spend most of the trip on the road. Here is what fits comfortably-

  • 3 Nights / 4 Days- Srinagar sightseeing and a day trip to Gulmarg. Our Special Kashmir package keeps all three nights in a houseboat on Dal or Nigeen Lake.

  • 5 Nights / 6 Days- Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam. Our honeymoon package gives two nights to Pahalgam, with a day at Chandanwari.

  • 6 Nights / 7 Days- Adds Sonamarg, or a quieter day at Doodhpathri or Yusmarg, with less rush.

  • 9 to 11 Days- Kashmir sightseeing with Vaishno Devi, and Amarnath during the Yatra season.

Kashmir Tour Packages for Families, Couples and Senior Citizens

  • Families- Keep Srinagar as the base and add two nights in Pahalgam, so that children do not have to change hotels every day.

  • Honeymoon couples- Gulmarg for the Gondola and snow, Pahalgam for riverside stays, and one houseboat night in Srinagar.

  • Senior citizens- Choose a 6 or 7 day plan with shorter drives. Tell us about any mobility or diet needs before we book hotels.

  • Groups- Share your group size first, as the vehicle and room plan change the price.

Best Time to Visit Kashmir

Every season in Kashmir has its own charm. April to June and September to October are the best months to explore Kashmir's beautiful landscapes, and December to February is the time for snow. The temperatures below are India Meteorological Department averages for Srinagar. Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg are colder. Let's know in detail about the best time to enjoy Kashmir Tourism.

Peak Tourism Season

March to May (Spring)

Temperature in Srinagar- 4°C to 25°C

These months are the best to enjoy the beautiful landscapes of Kashmir, though March and early April can be cold and rainy. The weather is pleasant for Kashmir sightseeing. You can enjoy shikara boat rides on Dal Lake, short treks and the Mughal gardens in bloom. You can also enjoy the Tulip Festival.

June to August (Summer)

Temperature in Srinagar- 15°C to 30°C

These are the warmest months and the busiest for Kashmir tourism. The valleys are green and the main tourist routes are usually open. The Amarnath Yatra takes place in July and August. Rain or official orders can still close a road for a few hours, so keep some buffer time. Hotels fill up early in these months, so book in advance.

Shoulder Season

September to November

Temperature in Srinagar- 1°C to 28°C

These months are also perfect to enjoy Kashmir sightseeing tours with your family and friends. The mornings and evenings will be cooler but the days will be warmer for enjoying sightseeing and adventure activities, and November gets cold. You can enjoy photography, apple-picking, peaceful nature walks, and the autumn colours of the Chinar trees.

Winter Season

December to February (Winter)

Temperature in Srinagar- -2°C to 11°C

If you love to see snowfall and enjoy snow adventure activities then these are the best months to plan Kashmir holidays. During these months, you can enjoy winter sports such as skiing and snowboarding in Gulmarg, cozy houseboat stays in Srinagar, and snow sightseeing.

Travel Tips for Kashmir Holidays

Here are some travel tips for your Kashmir trip-

  • Safety- Before you travel, check the advisories of the district administration, J&K Police and the J&K Tourism Department for the area you are planning to visit. Some tourist spots were closed after April 2025 and reopened in phases. Always book with a registered travel agency if you are planning to explore offbeat destinations of Kashmir. Avoid travelling during any political unrest and protest.

  • What to Pack- Carry a light jacket even in summer, as the evenings are cool. In winter, heavy woolens, sweaters, scarves, gloves, and waterproof shoes are must-haves.

  • Permits- Some remote or border areas such as Gurez, Keran, or Bangus near the Line of Control (LoC) have entry rules that change from time to time. Carry a government photo ID and check the permit requirements with local authorities in advance.

  • Plan your Visit- April to October is the best time to travel to Kashmir as the weather is pleasant for sightseeing and enjoying adventure activities. If you love snowfall and winter sports then you should plan your visit in the winter months (December to February).

  • Respect Culture and Customs- Avoid wearing revealing clothes in culturally sensitive areas. Dress modestly in temples and other sacred sites.

  • Carry Enough Cash- If you are visiting remote locations in Kashmir then carry enough cash for souvenir shopping. You may not find ATM's or any digital payment options.

  • Mobile Network- Prepaid SIM cards from other states do not work in Jammu and Kashmir. Carry a postpaid connection.

  • Local Taxis- Your package vehicle cannot go to some sightseeing points in Pahalgam, Gulmarg and Sonamarg. Local union taxis or ponies cover these places and are paid separately.
