Tamil Nadu Tour Packages
Our Tamil Nadu Tour Packages cover the main temple circuit from Chennai to Kanyakumari, with shorter trips for travellers who have 3 to 5 days. Each tour is private and uses an AC vehicle. On selected itineraries we can add a local guide, a Chettinad meal, or a temple visit planned around a ritual such as the Palliyarai Pooja, where the temple schedule allows.

Best Time to Visit Tamil Nadu
Peak Season - Winter (November to February)
These months are the best to plan your holidays with family in Tamil Nadu. The plains are at their most comfortable for sightseeing, though conditions differ between the coast, the inland districts and the hills. Hill stations like Ooty, Yercaud and Kodaikanal are much colder at this time, so carry warm clothes.
Pongal falls in mid-January. The month-long Margazhi festival of Carnatic music and classical dance is held in December and January.
November and early December still bring rain to the coast, so keep a buffer day if you travel then.
Summer (March to June)
The plains are hot and humid, and May is usually the hottest month. This weather is hard on kids and senior citizens, and it is not a good time for long sightseeing days.
Summer is the main season for the hill stations, so plan Ooty, Coonoor or Kodaikanal in these months. Tamil New Year (Puthandu) falls in mid-April. In the cities, museums, art galleries and shopping centres in Chennai and Madurai are good afternoon options.
Monsoon (July to October)
July to September brings light rain to most of Tamil Nadu and heavier rain to the Nilgiris. The hill stations of Ooty, Kodaikanal and Yercaud turn misty and green, and are good for nature walks through tea plantations, forests and botanical gardens.
The state gets most of its rain later, from the northeast monsoon between October and December. Heavy rain can disrupt sightseeing on the coast in these months. Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary is best visited from November to March. The wider migratory bird season there runs from October to March.

Places To Visit On Your Trip To Tamil Nadu
These are the stops our routes cover most often. For a longer list, see our guide to places which are popular in Tamil Nadu.
Meenakshi Amman Temple
Located in Madurai, the Meenakshi Amman Temple has 14 gopurams covered in thousands of colourful stucco figures. It is dedicated to Goddess Meenakshi and Lord Sundareswarar. The temple is traditionally credited to the Pandya kings and grew over several periods. Malik Kafur raided Madurai in 1311. The Nayak rulers later rebuilt and expanded the temple, mostly in the 16th and 17th centuries.
Mahabalipuram
Mahabalipuram, also called Mamallapuram, is 57 to 60 km south of Chennai and is known for its rock-cut temple architecture. See the monolithic bas-reliefs, the Shore Temple, the Pancha Rathas and Arjuna's Penance. It is also a good place to learn about ancient sculpting techniques and stone carving.
Thanjavur
Thanjavur is home to the Brihadeeswara Temple, part of the Great Living Chola Temples UNESCO site. The town is also known for Tanjore paintings and bronze work. Trichy, with its Rock Fort and the Srirangam temple, is 57 km away.
Rameswaram
Rameswaram is a sacred pilgrimage town on Pamban Island and one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites. Devotees come to Ramanathaswamy Temple to offer prayers to Lord Shiva. According to local religious tradition, Devi Sita made the Shivling here so that Lord Rama could pray and atone for killing Ravana. The temple has 22 holy theerthams (sacred water bodies), and devotees take a dip in them before darshan. The new Pamban rail bridge, 2.07 km long, opened on 6 April 2025.
Kanyakumari
Kanyakumari is the southern tip of mainland India. The Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the Thiruvalluvar Statue stand on rocks in the sea, and a 77-metre glass bridge has connected them since 30 December 2024. The district administration lists its visiting hours as 8 am to 4 pm.
Kodaikanal
Kodaikanal, the "Princess of Hill Stations", sits at 2,133 m and is one of the best-known hill stations for a peaceful family vacation in Tamil Nadu. Here you can enjoy boating, cycling, valley viewpoints, birdwatching and nature walks.
Pondicherry
Pondicherry, also known as Puducherry, is a separate Union Territory on the Tamil Nadu coast and is part of several of our routes. It is a French colonial heritage town with well-maintained colonial buildings and French-style cafes. Visit Auroville for peace, Promenade Beach for a stroll and the Puducherry Museum for traditional crafts. French bakeries such as Baker Street, Zuka and Bouche Sucree are worth a stop.
Chennai
Chennai is the starting point for most of our tours and the gateway to Mahabalipuram. The city is known for its traditional arts, music and dance, and you should watch a Bharatanatyam performance if you can. Eco-parks like Semmozhi Poonga are good for picnics and nature walks with family. Kids also enjoy Snow Kingdom, an indoor snow park.
Kodumbalur Moovar Koil
This ancient complex of Shiva temples dates back to the 9th century. If you are interested in Chola architecture, it is worth a detour, as it is among the older surviving temples of that period. It was built by Boodhi Vikrama Kesari of the Irukkuvel clan.
