Trichy to Rameswaram journey mattum konjam long-ah feel aachu, elders-ku little tiring, but driver nalla manage pannaaru and proper breaks eduthuttu ponaanga. Overall, parents kooda peaceful-ah travel panna good trip. Planning-um well organised-ah irundhuchu.
My husband and I did this as a small anniversary trip, wanted something peaceful and this delivered exactly that. Chidambaram temple visit early morning had barely any crowd which we were grateful for. Kumbakonam's old streets and small temples were charming to just walk around. Pondicherry beach in the evening was romantic, sat there for almost an hour doing nothing. Rooms were clean everywhere we stayed. Only the Ooty to Tiruvannamalai day was quite long, almost the whole day on road. Still, no complaints really.
Ek dum accha experience tha, especially Rameshwaram ka Ram Setu view aur temple ka darshan. Monsoon se pehle ka time tha toh weather bearable tha, thoda humid zaroor tha Trichy mein. Tanjore temple ki grandeur dekh kar sach mein achha laga, itna purana aur itna majboot structure. Ooty mein tea gardens dekhna bhi ek nice break tha itne temples ke baad. Overall trip well planned tha, bas ek din ka transfer thoda lamba lag gaya but manageable tha.
Travelled with three college friends and honestly this trip had a good balance of sightseeing and relaxation. Rock Fort in Trichy gave amazing views of the city and river below. Rameswaram beach in the evening was calm, we just sat there talking for a while. Kodaikanal and Ooty added a nice hill station touch to what was otherwise a temple heavy itinerary. May heat was intense at times but the hill stations balanced it out well. Would recommend to anyone wanting variety in one trip.

Yeh trip mere liye bahut special tha kyunki maine pehli baar South India explore kiya. Kanchipuram ke temples dekh kar mann khush ho gaya, itna intricate carving hai. Pondicherry mein French Quarter walk karna best tha, thoda different vibe hai wahan. Ooty ka weather thoda thanda tha but enjoy kiya. Trip achhi lagi, temples aur nature dono mila ek hi package mein.
Booked this for a family trip during New Year holidays. Eleven days felt long on paper but each place had something different to offer. Mahabalipuram's shore temple and the five rathas were beautiful in the morning sun. Kids enjoyed Kodaikanal boating a lot. Thiruttani temple on the last day was a calm way to end the trip before heading back. Roads in some stretches were bumpy near Kumbakonam but nothing major. Loved the variety this itinerary offered, temples, hills and coast all covered.
As a senior citizen travelling with my wife, comfort was our main concern and this trip handled it well. Vehicle had enough legroom and stops were planned reasonably, not too rushed. Kanchipuram temples in the beginning set a good tone for the trip. Pondicherry's calm streets were a nice contrast to all the temple visits. Kodaikanal lake walk was slow paced which suited us. Only wish there were slightly longer breaks between the Ooty and Tiruvannamalai drive since it was a long stretch.
I took my parents on this trip because they had always wanted to visit the famous temples in Tamil Nadu. The temple visits themselves were meaningful, especially Meenakshi Temple in Madurai. The evening aarti was beautiful and definitely the highlight for us. However, travelling in April was quite difficult because of the heat, especially in Madurai and Rameswaram. Even with water bottles and caps, my parents found some of the sightseeing tiring. The travel between places also felt a bit hectic at times, and there wasn’t always enough time to properly rest. Palani Temple visit was smooth and we didn’t have to wait too long. Kodaikanal was a welcome break from the heat, and my mother really enjoyed the filter coffee we had at different stops. The pilgrimage part was good, but the trip felt more tiring than expected, particularly for elderly parents. With a little more relaxed timing and better breaks, it could have been a much better experience.
Solo trip and I really enjoyed the pace of it. Thanjavur Brihadeeswarar temple was the highlight for me, the architecture is something else. Trichy Rock Fort climb was tiring in the heat but the view from top made it worth it. Vehicle was comfortable for long drives which mattered a lot given the distances. Tiruvannamalai in the evening with the temple lit up felt very peaceful. Food options were mostly vegetarian which suited me fine. Would say pack comfortable shoes since there's a lot of walking involved.
Aa mari first proper South Indian pilgrimage trip hati, etle expectations ghani hati. Chidambaram Nataraja Temple savare peaceful hatu ane crowd pan ochho hato, which was probably the best part of the trip. Kumbakonam ma Mahamaham Tank ane nearby temples ma ghano history chhe, pan sightseeing thodu tiring lagyu. Personally, aa trip mari expectations pramane smooth nathi rahi.
Best time to explore Tamil Nadu is from October to March when weather is cool and pleasant, suitable for sightseeing and temple visits. The temperature goes around 20°C to 30°C during the day, which makes it comfortable to travel.
The distance from Ooty to Kanchipuram is about 508 km, which takes roughly 9 hours by road, and it depends on traffic and stops.
Temple shows Lord Shiva’s cosmic dance and is wonderful example of Chola architecture. Its beauty and design make it a must-see for visitors who love history and culture.
It usually takes 10–12 days to see the main places in Tamil Nadu comfortably. This includes temples, hill stations, and beaches, which give you enough time to enjoy each destination.
