Plan your pilgrimage to the Char Dham sites with our Chardham Yatra Package from Ahmedabad. The Char Dham Yatra covers four sacred shrines in Uttarakhand: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. Yamunotri is where pilgrims seek the blessings of Goddess Yamuna, and Gangotri is the abode of Goddess Ganga. Kedarnath is home to Lord Shiva’s temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, and Badrinath is the abode of Lord Vishnu as Badri Narayan.
Each package is planned for families, friends and groups travelling from Gujarat. It covers darshan at all four shrines and sightseeing on the way, with hotels, meals and transport arranged for you. The 12 nights / 13 days package on this page costs ₹43,900 per person on double sharing.
The price, inclusions and day-wise plan below apply to this package. The sections on best time, registration, packing and stays are general guidance for every pilgrim.
Quick answer: A Char Dham Yatra from Ahmedabad takes 12 nights and 13 days. You travel from Ahmedabad to Delhi, and from there by road to all four shrines. The package costs ₹43,900 per person on double sharing. The usual travel months are May, June and late September to October. Registration with Uttarakhand Tourism is mandatory and free.
The budget Char Dham tour from Ahmedabad is for pilgrims who want a hassle-free yatra without overspending. The amenities and services are basic, but the route and darshan plan are the same as in the other packages.
The luxury Ahmedabad to Char Dham package is for pilgrims who want more comfort throughout the trip. It uses higher-category hotels and private transportation, subject to availability. Keep in mind that stays close to the shrines, especially at Kedarnath, are basic even in this category.
Our Char Dham Yatra by helicopter cuts out most of the long mountain drives. The helicopter tour starts from Dehradun, so from Ahmedabad you first fly to Dehradun. Business professionals, people with mobility issues and senior citizens can opt for this package if a doctor clears them for high altitude. Flights depend on the weather and can be delayed or rescheduled.
The 12N/13D package on this page costs ₹43,900 per person on double sharing. The budget option starts at ₹35,000 per person [CONFIRM]. The price includes meals, accommodation, transportation and driver expenses: exact meals, and whether GST and the Ahmedabad to Delhi ticket are included. Prices go up in May and June, when most pilgrims travel.

|---|---|---|
| Yamunotri | 19 April | Bhai Dooj |
| Gangotri | 19 April | Around Diwali |
| Kedarnath | 22 April | Bhai Dooj |

The temple committees announce the exact closing dates each year. Check them before planning an October or November trip.
See our Chardham opening and closing dates page for the latest updates.
Summer is the peak season for the Char Dham Yatra because the weather is pleasant. The temples open in late April (19 to 23 April in 2026). May and June are the busiest months of the season. Accommodation and transport prices are highest at this time, so book early.
The monsoon lasts from July to mid-September. It is not a good time for the Char Dham Yatra because of heavy rainfall and landslides. Roads can be blocked for hours or days, and road conditions are poor. Hotels stay open, but you should keep a few spare days.
Late September and October usually bring clearer skies and less rush than May and June. Late rain can still shut the routes, as it did on 27 September 2026, so keep a spare day or two. Nights get cold, and the temples close in November.
During winter, the Char Dham temples remain closed for about 6 months because of heavy snowfall. The deities are worshipped at their winter seats: Kharsali (Yamunotri), Mukhba (Gangotri), the Omkareshwar temple in Ukhimath (Kedarnath) and the Narsingh temple in Jyotirmath, also called Joshimath (Badrinath).
You can take a direct flight from Ahmedabad (Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport) to Dehradun (Jolly Grant Airport), the nearest airport to the Char Dham route. Taxis are available outside the airport to Rishikesh and Haridwar, where the yatra starts. Flights from Ahmedabad to Delhi are more frequent. Check current schedules before booking.
The Yoga Express (19031) runs daily from Ahmedabad to Haridwar. It takes about 23 to 26 hours and continues to Rishikesh. From Vadodara and Surat, you can also take the Bandra Terminus to Haridwar Express (19019). Many trains also run from Ahmedabad to Delhi. Train timings change, so check the current timetable on IRCTC before you book.
Ahmedabad to Haridwar is about 1,190 km by road, via Rajasthan and Delhi. From Haridwar or Rishikesh, you can head to Barkot, the first stop of the Char Dham route.
Gangotri has guest houses and dharamshalas with basic amenities. The nearby towns of Uttarkashi and Harsil have a wider choice of mid-range hotels with better facilities.
Stays near the Yamunotri temple are very limited. Most pilgrims stay at Barkot, Janki Chatti or Hanuman Chatti. Barkot has the most hotels on this stretch.
Kedarnath has GMVN guest houses, basic lodges and tents. Facilities are simple and nights are cold. Hotels at Sitapur, Sonprayag and Guptkashi are more comfortable, and this package uses Sitapur.
Badrinath has hotels, ashrams and dharamshalas with different levels of facilities.
Namaste India Trip is approved by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, and is a member of IATO. Our head office is in Delhi, and our Dehradun office is the closest to the Yatra route. On reaching Barkot, you will check into your pre-booked hotel for an overnight stay.
You will leave early in the morning for Janki Chatti (about 45 km), the base of the Yamunotri trek. From Janki Chatti, you will trek about 6 km to the Yamunotri temple (about 3,293 m). If you do not want to walk, you can take a pony or palki at your own cost. At the temple, you will have darshan of Goddess Yamuna and visit Surya Kund, a hot spring where pilgrims cook rice as prasad. After darshan, you will return to Barkot for an overnight stay.
Today, you will drive to Uttarkashi, the base for the Gangotri yatra. On the way, you will stop at the Prakateshwar Mahadev Cave. After checking into your hotel in Uttarkashi, you will visit the Shakti temple and the Vishwanath temple. After darshan, you will return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Today, you will head to Gangotri, the second dham of the yatra. The road follows the Bhagirathi river, and you will stop for some time at Harsil.
