Nonstop flights from Hyderabad (HYD) to Ahmedabad (AMD) take approximately 1 hour 45 minutes. IndiGo, Air India, Air India Express and Akasa Air fly this route, but schedules change, so check current timings. Fares move with the date and how early you book. For the 7-day tour, fly out on Day 1 and return on Day 7 evening (7 PM or later).
IndiGo has operated direct Hyderabad to Rajkot (Hirasar) flights of about 1 hr 50 min; check the current schedule. Rajkot is closer to Dwarka and Somnath, so starting there shortens the long road days. Ask us if you want the route planned from Rajkot.
The Secunderabad-Rajkot SF Express (22718) is one option, and it stops at Ahmedabad. Plan for roughly a full day on the train, and check IRCTC for current running days and other trains. Rail suits travellers who prefer not to fly.

Somnath Temple stands directly on the Arabian Sea coast in Saurashtra. Traditionally regarded as the first among the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, it has been destroyed and rebuilt multiple times through history. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel ordered the reconstruction in 1947, and the present temple, built in the Chalukya style, was consecrated on 11 May 1951.
The Dwarkadhish Temple (also known as Jagat Mandir) is dedicated to Lord Krishna, worshipped here as Dwarkadhish. It is one of the four sacred Char Dham pilgrimage sites. The current stone structure dates from the 15th–16th century. Its shikhara (main spire) is 43 metres high, according to Gujarat Tourism and the Devbhumi Dwarka district portal, and carries a flag made from 52 yards of cloth. The temple sits on a small hill reached by more than 50 steps.
Traditionally regarded as one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, located about 16 km from Dwarka on the Dwarka-Okha road (Gujarat Tourism puts it at 18 km). The presiding deity is Lord Shiva as Nageshwar, the Lord of Serpents. A 25-metre statue of Lord Shiva stands in the temple garden (as stated on the Government of Gujarat's Devbhumi Dwarka district portal). The Jyotirlinga is in an underground sanctum. Aundha Nagnath in Maharashtra and Jageshwar in Uttarakhand also claim the Nageshwar name.

Dwarka covers Dwarkadhish Temple, Nageshwar Jyotirlinga, Bet Dwarka, Rukmini Devi Temple and Gomati Ghat, while Somnath covers the main temple, Triveni Sangam, Bhalka Tirth, Geeta Mandir and the Sound and Light Show.

October to February is the most comfortable, at 15 to 30°C with a pleasant sea breeze. May to June is very hot. July to September brings rain, rough seas and the closure of the main Gir jungle safari. Janmashtami brings very large crowds to Dwarka, and Mahashivratri to Nageshwar and Somnath, so book 2 to 3 months ahead for these dates.
Traditional Hindu accounts hold that ancient Dwarka, Lord Krishna's kingdom, sank beneath the Arabian Sea, and the subject has also been discussed in archaeological research. Dwarka is one of the seven sacred cities (Sapta Puri).
Dwarka is the main town with the Dwarkadhish Temple. Bet Dwarka (Shankhodhar) is an island about 2 km off Okha (~30 km from Dwarka), reached by road over Sudarshan Setu since 25 February 2024. Tradition holds Bet Dwarka as Lord Krishna's residence. Both are covered on Day 5.
The package covers a visit to the Gir Interpretation Zone at Devaliya (permit fee extra, closed on Wednesdays). Lion sightings there are common but not guaranteed. The full jeep safari in the main Sasan Gir sanctuary needs advance booking on girlion.gujarat.gov.in, costs extra, and runs only from 16 October to 15 June.
The ground package starts at approximately ₹18,000 per person on double sharing with standard hotels. Mid-range packages cost ₹24,000 to ₹28,000, and premium (3-star) packages start at ₹32,000. Return flights between Hyderabad and Ahmedabad are extra, and the fare depends on the date and how early you book. Contact us for an exact quote.

Fly from Hyderabad to Ahmedabad (about 1 hr 45 min nonstop) and continue by road, which is how this package runs. Rajkot is closer to both temples, so a Hyderabad-Rajkot flight shortens the drive if the timing suits you. By rail, the Secunderabad-Rajkot SF Express stops at both Ahmedabad and Rajkot.
Yes. None of the temples need trekking, though Dwarkadhish sits on a small hill with more than 50 steps. Somnath Temple has wheelchairs, golf carts and a lift. The private tour can run at a slower pace, and early morning darshan helps you avoid the heat.
No. Mobiles, cameras and smartwatches are not allowed inside Somnath Temple. Free lockers are available at the entrance.
Yes, all private packages can be customised. Common options are adding Diu (1 extra day), starting from Rajkot instead of Ahmedabad, skipping Modhera-Patan for a relaxed last day, a shorter Dwarka and Somnath-only version, upgrading hotels, or a fixed-date group departure.
The Shree Somnath Trust runs guesthouses near the temple, which you can book on somnath.org. The same site handles puja bookings such as Rudrabhishek. Book early for Mahashivratri, Shravan Mondays and long weekends.
