You start with Dwarka, where the tour covers Dwarkadhish Temple, Nageshwar Jyotirlinga, Bet Dwarka and Dwarka Beach, and then continue via Porbandar to Somnath for the Somnath Temple and Bhalka Tirth. Two of the five nights are in Dwarka. That gives you a full day for Bet Dwarka and Nageshwar.
For pilgrims from Mumbai, this Gujarat pilgrimage package keeps the planning simple. Here’s why:
The package starts and ends in Mumbai. On Day 1 you travel from Mumbai to Ahmedabad, about 530 km away, and our representative meets you there. From Ahmedabad, the Saurashtra circuit runs by road: Dwarka first, then Porbandar and Somnath, and back to Ahmedabad. On Day 6 you return to Mumbai.
The road circuit from Ahmedabad covers approximately 1,100 to 1,200 km in total: Ahmedabad to Dwarka (~450 km), Dwarka to Somnath (~235 km), Somnath back to Ahmedabad (400 to 410 km), plus local sightseeing around Dwarka. Two of those days are long drives, so the itinerary keeps the sightseeing on those days light.

Other than the famous Dwarkadhish and Somnath Temples, here are the places covered on this tour:
The Somnath Temple at Prabhas Patan, near Veraval, is traditionally counted as the first of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. The current temple, rebuilt in the Chalukya (Maru-Gurjara) style under Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s vision, was consecrated on 11 May 1951 by India’s first President, Dr. Rajendra Prasad. Its shikhara is about 155 feet (47 metres) tall and faces the open Arabian Sea. The temple stands at a Triveni Sangam, the confluence of three rivers: Kapila, Hiran and the mythical Saraswati. One unique feature is the Baan Stambh (Arrow Pillar) on the sea wall. Its inscription says there is no land between this point and the South Pole.
Timings: 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily. Aarti at 7 AM, 12 PM and 7 PM. Light & Sound Show from 7:45 PM.
Entry: Free for general darshan.
Dwarkadhish Temple, also called Jagat Mandir, is one of the four Char Dham pilgrimage sites, dedicated to Lord Krishna as the ‘King of Dwarka.’ The five-storey temple stands on 72 pillars, and its spire is about 43 metres high. A flight of 56 steps leads up from the Gomti side, and pilgrims enter through the Swarg Dwar and leave through the Moksha Dwar. It is believed to stand on the original site of Lord Krishna’s palace. Darshan opens at 6:30 AM. The first hour is usually the quietest.
Timings: Morning 6:30 AM to 1:00 PM | Evening 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Closed 1 to 5 PM daily.
Bhalka Tirth in Somnath is a sacred site where Lord Krishna is believed to have been struck by a hunter’s arrow, the event that marked the transition from Dwapara Yuga to Kali Yuga. The site is also known as Mahaprabhuji’s Bethak.
Timings: 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM
Time needed: About 30 to 45 minutes
Dwarka Beach is a quiet spot where visitors can sit by the sea, and evenings here are especially pleasant. Both tourists and locals enjoy Dwarka Beach, which is just a short walk from the Dwarkadhish Temple and the Gomti Ghat.
Timings: Open 24 hours
Time needed: 1 to 2 hours
Laxminarayan Temple is near the sea in Somnath, on the bank of the Hiran river, and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Laxmi. It is modelled on the Badrinath temple. Right next to it is Gita Mandir, built in 1970, where the 18 chapters of the Bhagavad Gita are carved on 18 marble pillars.
Timings: Gita Mandir 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Time needed: Around 30 to 45 minutes
Sudama Setu is a footbridge over the River Gomti, named after Sudama, Lord Krishna’s childhood friend. It was opened in 2016 and gives views of the Arabian Sea, with the five Pandava wells and an old Lakshmi Narayana temple on the other side. Please note that the bridge has been closed to visitors since 2022 as a safety measure, and a renovation was approved in 2025. Check its status locally before planning your visit.
Nageshwar Temple, also called Nagnath Temple, is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, situated on the coastal highway between Dwarka and Bet Dwarka, about 18 km from Dwarka city. The Jyotirlinga is enshrined in an underground sanctum (garbhagriha). The 25-metre (82-foot) seated statue of Lord Shiva on the temple grounds is a major landmark visible from a distance. On our itinerary, this temple is covered on the same day as Bet Dwarka.
Timings: Gujarat Tourism lists it as open from dawn to dusk. Darshan hours can change, so check locally.
Distance from Dwarka: About 18 km (25 to 40 min by road)
Time needed: Around 1 hour
Bet Dwarka is believed to be the original residential island of Lord Krishna, distinct from the main Dwarkadhish Temple on the mainland. It is located approximately 30 km from Dwarka via Okha. Since February 2024, the Sudarshan Setu, a 2.32 km cable-stayed bridge, connects Okha to the island by road. The public ferry from Okha still runs as another option. The island is encircled by sea on almost every side and has the Bet Dwarkadhish Temple and several smaller shrines.
How to reach: Drive to Okha (30 km from Dwarka), then cross the Sudarshan Setu to the island.
Temple timings: 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM and 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM, as listed by Gujarat Tourism. Plan Bet Dwarka for the morning.
Time needed: 2 to 3 hours including the drive
Rukmini Devi Temple, 2 to 3 km from the Dwarkadhish Temple, is dedicated to Rukmini, Lord Krishna’s principal consort. The present structure dates to around the 12th century and is known for its intricate stone carvings. According to legend, the temple stands apart from the Dwarkadhish Temple because the sage Durvasa cursed Rukmini to live separately from Lord Krishna.
Porbandar, the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi, lies en route between Dwarka and Somnath. Visit Kirti Mandir, a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi and Kasturba Gandhi built next to the Gandhi family’s ancestral house, where Gandhi was born in 1869. The memorial is 79 feet tall, one foot for each year of his life.
Shivrajpur Beach, 12 km from Dwarka on the Dwarka-Okha highway, is a Blue Flag certified beach. It is open from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and the entry fee is ₹30 per adult. You can add it on Day 3 if time permits.
These are example hotels for each category. The final hotel depends on availability on your dates.

Day 1 is your travel day from Mumbai to Ahmedabad, about 530 km. Our representative meets you at Ahmedabad Railway Station or Airport and takes you to your hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Ahmedabad.
Your journey with us commences from Ahmedabad. After breakfast, you will be driven to Dwarka via Rajkot and Jamnagar, approximately 450 km, which takes 8 to 10 hours. On arrival at Dwarka, visit the popular Dwarkadhish Temple. This holy site holds great significance in Hinduism, and it is believed that Lord Krishna moved to this coastal town and set it up as his capital. Marine archaeologists have also found remains off the coast that tradition links with ancient Dwarka, or Dwaravati.
Apart from the temples, Dwarka also has beaches and a few sights worth an evening. Sabha Mandap is another major attraction near the Dwarkadhish Temple. This pillared assembly hall has ‘Jharokhas’ that offer a view of the surroundings and the Gomti River. Reach Dwarkadhish Temple at the time of evening Aarti and then move back to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 3 is for the religious sites around Dwarka: Nageshwar Temple and Bet Dwarka. Start with Bet Dwarka, because its temple closes from 12 noon to 4:30 PM. You will be driven to Okha, about 30 km from Dwarka, and then across the Sudarshan Setu bridge to Bet Dwarka, an island encircled by sea on almost every side. Nageshwar Temple is on the coastal highway between Dwarka and Bet Dwarka, so it fits in on the way back.
Also called Nagnath Temple, Nageshwar Temple enshrines the Jyotirlinga commonly called Nageshwar Mahadev, and it draws devotees from across India. The Jyotirlinga here is believed to protect devotees from all kinds of poison. Later, visit the Rukmini Temple, which is believed to have been built around the 12th century in honour of Rukmini, the princess of Vidarbha. On the way, stop at Gopi Talav, the place where Lord Krishna is believed to have played with the Gopis. Overnight stay in Dwarka.
Get up early. Darshan at the Dwarkadhish Temple begins at 6:30 AM, so be at the temple by 6:15 AM. Then drive to Porbandar, the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi on the Saurashtra coast, where you visit Kirti Mandir, the memorial built next to the house in which Gandhi was born.
After this visit, continue towards Somnath, which houses one of the most important of the 12 Jyotirlingas. The Somnath Temple, consecrated in 1951, stands as a symbol of India’s faith and resilience on the western coast of Gujarat. As time permits, visit the Rudreshwar Temple near the Somnath complex and then drive to Bhalka Tirth, the sacred spot where the Dwapara Yuga is believed to have ended. In the evening, attend the 7:00 PM aarti at the Somnath Temple and stay for the light and sound show. Overnight at Somnath.
Start the day with the 7:00 AM aarti at the Somnath Temple, then visit Triveni Sangam and Gita Mandir nearby. After breakfast, drive back to Ahmedabad, 400 to 410 km, which takes 7 to 8 hours. On arrival, check in to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Post breakfast and check-out, you will be dropped at Ahmedabad Airport or Railway Station for your journey back to Mumbai, where your Dwarka Somnath Tour Package from Mumbai ends.

Dwarka is around 930 to 950 km from Mumbai by road. By train, the Saurashtra Mail takes about 16 hours. Travellers in a hurry often fly to Jamnagar and then drive 130 to 145 km to Dwarka.
Start with Dwarka. This itinerary goes to Dwarka first, then down the coast to Somnath via Porbandar, and back to Ahmedabad from Somnath. The reverse order covers about the same distance.
Plan 6 days from Mumbai. The road circuit alone is more than 1,100 km, and you need two nights in Dwarka to see Bet Dwarka and Nageshwar properly. From Ahmedabad, 4 to 5 days is enough.
Yes. The package starts and ends in Mumbai, and the journey between Mumbai and Ahmedabad is part of it, along with hotels, meals, transfers and sightseeing as per the itinerary.
No. Mobile phones, cameras and other electronics are not allowed inside the Somnath Temple. You can deposit them at the free lockers at the main gate and take pictures outside the temple.
November to February is the best time to visit Dwarka. Janmashtami is the most special time for pilgrims, and also the most crowded, so book early if you want to be there for it.
The Saurashtra Mail (22945) runs daily from Mumbai Central to Dwarka in about 16 hours. For Somnath, the Saurashtra Janta Express (19217) and Bandra-Veraval Express (19203) run from Bandra Terminus to Veraval and Somnath.
Yes. Since February 2024, the Sudarshan Setu bridge connects Okha to Bet Dwarka island, so you can drive across. The ferry from Okha still runs if you prefer the boat.
For most senior travellers, yes. All road travel is by car, and Somnath has wheelchairs and golf carts at the main gate. Two things need thought: the 56 steps at Dwarkadhish, and the 400 km plus drives on Day 2 and Day 5. Tell us about any mobility or health needs before booking so we can plan rest stops.
In the commonly followed Hindu tradition, Gujarat has two of the 12 Jyotirlingas: Somnath near Veraval and Nageshwar near Dwarka. This tour covers both.
