Because Mount Kailash is located in China-occupied Tibet, a passport is required for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. In addition, China provides visas and permits for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.
Its highest peak, the 6,675-meter-high Kailash, is said to be Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati's holy residence. The mountain holds great significance in Jainism and among Tibetans, and it has drawn pilgrims from all religions for centuries.
Mount Kailash is surrounded by two lakes: Mansarovar and Rakshas Tal. The two lakes are thought to represent yin and yang; one is shaped like the Sun, while the other resembles the Moon; one is freshwater, while the other is saltwater.
Time seems to move faster near Kailash Mansarovar; this could be due to the high altitude of the region. Indeed, a group of Siberian mountaineers who went beyond a certain point in their attempt to climb Mount Kailash experienced very rapid ageing a few years ago.
The face of Lord Shiva is commonly depicted on the holy Mt Kailash. As previously stated, it was discovered by NASA scientists. Because it is a satellite image, devotees and others cannot see the top view of Shiv Bhagwan's face.
