The Janaki Mandir is most likely the main reason why many people visit Janakpur. The reason is reasonable. Janaki Mandir, dedicated to Goddess Sita, is Nepal's largest temple. Janakpur's main tourist attraction is built on the site where Goddess Sita was born.
Here's a list of things you should try in Janakpur. Janakpur has bhaja, while Kathmandu has chatpate and Butwal has fulki. Bhaja is similar to chatpate, with the exception that no additional sauces are used. Puffed rice is tossed with salt, chilli, and mustard oil before being served with a green chili-based pulse curry.
According to the Hindu calendar, the religious and cultural festival is held on the fifth day of Marga Shukla Paksha. Every year, for the occasion, a marriage procession of Ram arrives in Janakpurdham from Ayodhya, India.
