You visit the Vishwa Shanti Stupa and Peace Pagoda too before proceeding to Hirapur, another 8 km away from where you come upon the Chausath Yogini Temple dedicated to Shakti. The walls bear beautiful carvings of Yoginis and nine Katyayani. Next on the stop is Pipli where we stop to admire the handicrafts and arts of this region. You could buy mementos of appliqué work. After that, we proceed to Raghurajpur, a village famous for its heritage crafts. This is the home of Pattachitra painters, an art that goes back to the 5th century BC. Surely you will buy some articles to take home and as gifts. Finally, the coach takes you to Puri, the holy city, and also one fine beach destination. Check into your hotel room and relax. The evening is free for you to explore Puri.
Early in the morning, the group sets out for the famed Jagannath Temple for darshan and then we proceed to the beach to get some fresh air. Spend some time here relaxing or bathing in the sea and then we proceed to Konark, another famous beach and temple site. The Sun temple in Konark is fabulously spectacular, dating back to the 13th century. Just 35 km from Puri, this excursion not only takes you to the Sun Temple but also some smaller shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva and Durga and of course some time at the beach. The beach is only 3 km from the Temple and beautiful in its own right. You will love spending a couple of hours here and watch the sunset into the ocean before returning to Puri for a well-earned rest.
Breakfast on local delicacies and then board the coach for the travel to Chilika. Chilika is a large water body comprising of a lagoon of brackish water spread over Ganjam, Khordha, and Puri districts. It is home to a variety of flora and hundreds of bird species. Go boating on the waters to explore Birds Island and Nalabana Island. It is the time to go on to Gopalpur, another fabulous beach resort where you book into your hotel and rest for the night.
Gopalpur is not just the beach but it is also famous for the Taratarini temple. We climb a small hillock to view this temple and then proceed to Patisonapur. In comparison to the more crowded beaches, Patisonapur is relatively quiet and gives time for a breather. Watch as the sun sets and then return to the Gopalpur hotel for the night.
Breakfast and then board the coach for the drive to Bhubaneshwar where you check into your room on arrival freshen up and get ready to take a trip to the temples. The group visits Raja Rani and Parsurameswar temples before proceeding to the Mukteswar temple, renowned for its architectural splendor. The walls bear intricately carved sculptures and the style of architecture is more Dravidian than North Indian. Bhubaneshwar is also famous for its Vaital Deul Temple, dedicated to Durga and Shakti. Like Mukteshwar, this temple too has fabulous carvings throughout its spread. The complex is large and it takes time to view each section but you will be impressed by the details here and the tantric origins. As evening falls you return to your hotel room.
Board a coach for the drive to Chandipur to visit the Khirachora Gopinath temple after which we check into the hotel. Refresh, put on appropriate beachwear, and head for the Chandipur beach. This beautiful beach is number two in terms of popularity and is unspoiled. From here you go on to Balaramgadi where the river meets the sea. As the sun sets you to return to your room for the overnight stay.

Habalikhati beach is one of Odisha's unexplored beaches, with virtually no public access. The most stunning aspect of this beach is how it glows at night. You have to be lucky to see the majestic beach lit up at night.
Orissa's Chandipur Beach is one of the cleanest. It's an unusual sea beach with the 'Vanishing Sea' phenomenon, which means the sea recedes to a certain distance for a set period of time and then returns at high tide.
Puri Beach is Odissa's longest beach.
Swargadwar Sea Beach is located in Puri, Odisha.
Swargadwar Sea Beach is located in Puri, Odisha. The term "beach" is derived from the Old English word "baece" (stream). Beaches were the round worn-out pebbles on the British seashore during King Henry VIII's reign. Perhaps they used the term for a pebble beach because'strand' sounded more like a sandy beach.
