Khandagiri and Udayagiri Caves
Explore Khandagiri and Udayagiri Caves, a historic attraction admired for its architecture, cultural legacy and sightseeing value.
Odisha is known as the soul of India for good reason. A well-planned Bhubaneswar Puri Konark Tour Package lets you experience the state's most iconic destinations within a compact 70 km triangle — Puri, Konark Sun Temple, and Bhubaneswar. Puri is one of the four sacred Char Dhams, home to the Jagannath Temple and the world-famous Rath Yatra. Konark's Sun Temple, built in the 13th century, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the finest examples of Kalinga architecture. Bhubaneswar, with over 600 ancient temples, is the historic capital that started it all.
This Bhubaneswar Puri Konark trip covers all three cities in 4 days and 3 nights. Hotel stays, daily breakfast, private AC vehicle, airport pickup, and an English-speaking guide are included. You visit the Jagannath Temple, Konark Sun Temple, Chilika Lake, Khandagiri-Udayagiri Caves, Dhauli Stupa, and Pipli village — in a well-paced circuit that works for first-time visitors, families, and pilgrims alike.
Rath Yatra 2026 falls on July 16. If you plan to visit around that date, book at least 8 weeks in advance — hotels across Puri fill up fast. The Jagannath Temple also closes for 14 days during Anavasara (after Snana Purnima, roughly June–July) when Darshan is not available. Our team flags these dates at the time of booking.

2026 Important Dates:

Ha aamcha honeymoon trip hota ani overall khup chan experience milala. Bhubaneswar la pohachlyavar city cha peaceful atmosphere khup avadla. My wife and I are in our sixties and were a bit worried about the pace of travel but this trip turned out to be gentle enough for us. The temple visits on the first day in Bhubaneswar were unhurried, our guide gave us enough time to sit and rest between stops. Konark on day two was the standout, the sheer scale of the Sun Temple is hard to describe in words, you really have to see it. Puri's Jagannath Temple area had a lot of energy with pilgrims from all over, quite a sight even from outside. Chilika Lake was a highlight for both of us, the boat was stable and the crew helpful with getting us seated comfortably. Golden Beach in the evening was a nice quiet end to the day. Food throughout was mild and suited to us, nothing too spicy. Only request would be slightly more time built in for rest between the Dhauli and Konark legs since that stretch took a while. Otherwise thoroughly enjoyed it.
I travelled alone and honestly this was one of the more peaceful trips I have done in a while. Reached Bhubaneswar and the temple visits on day one felt grounding, not touristy at all, more like a quiet spiritual pause. The drive to Konark the next day passing through Dhauli was scenic, and Konark itself is unlike anything I had seen before, the temple ruins have such a haunting beauty to them. Puri beach at night, away from the crowds, was where I felt most at peace on this whole trip. Chilika Lake the following morning was misty and calm, our boat guide pointed out a few birds I had never seen before. Golden Beach in the evening had a lovely local food stall nearby where I tried some fresh prawn fry. Highly recommend for solo travellers wanting quiet over chaos.
Trip was good overall. Konark Sun Temple is the highlight for sure, spent almost two hours there just walking around and reading about the history from our guide. Jagannath Temple in Puri was worth experiencing. Chilika was nice though the boat ride felt a bit rushed, wish we had more time there to just sit by the water. Food was decent, tried the local dalma and some street snacks near the beach. Hotel was clean and comfortable. One thing I would flag is the Pipli stop felt more like a shopping halt than a sightseeing one, could be skipped if you are not interested in buying anything. Otherwise a smooth 4 days.

Chota sa trip tha but bahut acha laga overall. Bhubaneswar mein pehle din temples dekhe, thoda tired the after the flight but temples ka peace instantly relax kar diya. Dusre din Dhauli aur Konark gaye, Konark Sun Temple dekh kar sach mein amazed ho gaye, itni detailing kaise kar sakte hain purane time mein log. Puri pahunch kar hotel achha tha, room clean tha. Third day Chilika Lake gaye boat mein, bahut hi peaceful experience tha, thodi dhoop thi lekin lake ka breeze sab balance kar deta hai. Golden Beach shaam ko gaye, waha ka sunset dekhna ek alag hi experience hai. Food bhi try kiya local, khaas kar the fish curry Puri mein bahut tasty thi. Overall 4 din mein bahut kuch cover ho gaya, family ke saath jaana ho to zaroor try karein.
Quick 4 day getaway and it delivered what it promised. Konark Sun Temple is genuinely worth the hype, the chariot wheel carvings alone justify the trip. Puri beach in March had decent weather, not too hot yet. Chilika Lake boat ride was pleasant though I wish the itinerary allowed a bit more time there since it is a large lake and we barely scratched the surface. Pipli was a nice quick stop for some colourful applique products, bought a few things for home. Bhubaneswar temples on the first day were a good warm up before the bigger sights. Nothing extraordinary went wrong, just standard small delays here and there with traffic. Would go again if exploring more of the coastal side next time.
I took this trip in June, and although the weather was quite hot, the overall experience was good. Konark Sun Temple was the highlight, and I really enjoyed exploring its beautiful architecture. The evening at Puri Beach and the Chilika Lake boat ride were also memorable. I even got to try some tasty local sweets near the beach. The heat was a bit tiring at times, but overall it was a nice short trip.
I traveled solo on this trip and overall it was a decent experience. Bhubaneswar, Konark, and Puri are all worth visiting, and Konark Sun Temple was easily the highlight for me. Puri Beach was relaxing in the evenings, and the Chilika boat ride was enjoyable too. Even though everything was comfortable, the trip didn't feel as exciting as I had expected. It was nice to cover the major places, but I was hoping for a more memorable experience.
