Went with my wife and mother for the Jyotirlinga darshan and honestly the whole trip felt very smooth. The drive from Hyderabad took close to five hours but the ghat road views near Nallamala forest made up for the long sitting. Our driver was polite and stopped twice for tea breaks which my mother appreciated. Darshan at the Mallikarjuna temple was well managed, we didn't wait too long. Stayed in a decent hotel near the temple, food was simple but tasty, mostly Andhra thali. Overall a peaceful pilgrimage trip.
solo trip tha mera aur bahut hi accha experience raha. Hyderabad se Srisailam ka drive lamba tha but Nallamala forest ke ghat roads dekhne mein maza aaya. Temple mein VIP darshan ka option liya tha to line skip ho gayi. Local food try kiya, gongura pickle bahut pasand aaya mujhe. Weather thoda garam tha but subah subah temple visit karne se problem nahi hui. Trip Bohot satisfying raha, akele travel karne walo ke liye safe bhi laga.
Travelled with my brother, mainly for the darshan since it was on our long pending list. The route from Hyderabad through the Nallamala hills is scenic, lots of forest cover which was a nice surprise. We reached in the afternoon, checked into the hotel and by evening did the darshan without much crowd. Next morning we also visited the ghats along the Krishna river which was calm and quiet. Local Andhra meals were spicy but tasty, especially the pulusu. No real complaints from our side, everything was timed well and driver knew the route very well.
Booked this trip during Shravan month specifically for the Jyotirlinga darshan and the temple was beautifully decorated for the season. Crowd was more than usual but the arrangements handled it well, we still got a proper darshan without excessive waiting. The ghat area by the river had a nice quiet corner where we sat for a while after darshan. Hotel food was average but there was a good local eatery nearby serving proper Andhra meals. Only issue was slight delay in pickup on the first morning from Hyderabad, but the driver made up time on the road.

As someone from Telangana itself I have visited Srisailam before but this organised trip made things much easier for my in-laws who came from out of state. The whole itinerary from Hyderabad pickup to drop back was handled smoothly. Temple darshan was peaceful, we went in the early slot. My father in law particularly liked the view of the Nallamala forest during the ghat road drive. Meals arranged were simple home style Andhra food which everyone enjoyed. No real complaints, maybe just wish there was a bit more time at Srisailam dam viewpoint.
This trip exceeded my expectations honestly. I travelled alone and was a bit worried about logistics but everything was arranged well from pickup at Hyderabad to drop off. The Mallikarjuna temple darshan felt very devotional, the priests were helpful in guiding through the rituals. I also took some time to sit by the ghats near the river which was peaceful in the evening light. Weather was warm but manageable. Food was simple vegetarian thalis mostly, tasty enough.
Simple, well organised, no unnecessary rush. Went with my elderly parents and the pace of the itinerary suited them fine. Temple darshan was handled respectfully, driver waited patiently while we spent time inside. Ghat area near the river was clean and peaceful for a short walk after darshan. Food throughout matched our taste, proper Andhra style. Only thing, hotel room service was a bit slow on the first night. Rest everything, from pickup timing to the final drop at Hyderabad, was smooth. Good option for senior citizens wanting to complete the jyotirlinga darshan comfortably.
This was my second visit to Srisailam but first time doing it through an organised tour and it made things much easier especially with the heat in May. Darshan was arranged in the cooler morning hours which I appreciated a lot. The Krishna river ghats looked lovely in the soft morning light, spent some quiet time there before heading back to the hotel. Food was mostly local Andhra style, quite good, though a little too spicy for my mother who joined me. Last day sightseeing in Hyderabad rounded off the trip nicely before our evening train back.
Booked this for my parents as they wanted to complete their Jyotirlinga yatra. They came back very happy. Told me the Krishna river ghat near Srisailam was beautiful early morning, quite peaceful before the crowd built up. Hotel was clean, close to temple, so no rush walking distance wise. But temple darshan itself was smooth and my father said the priest explained the significance of the jyotirlinga nicely. Would recommend to elderly couples looking for a manageable pilgrimage.
mummy papa ke saath gaye the yeh trip, unki tabiyat thodi weak hai to humne comfortable gaadi book ki thi. Journey lambi thi lekin beech beech mein rukte gaye to zyada thakaan nahi hui. Temple ke paas hi hotel tha jisse walking distance kam thi, papa ko yeh sabse zyada helpful laga. Darshan bhi jaldi ho gaya. Baaki sab theek raha, priest ne achhe se pooja karwayi aur sabhi bahut khush thi is trip se.
My wife and I did this as a small getaway alongside the darshan. Summer heat was noticeable during the day but early morning and evening timings for temple visit worked out fine. The forest stretch on the drive was actually quite pretty, didn't expect that much greenery. Stayed at a hotel close to the temple, basic but clean. We tried local Andhra biryani one evening which was surprisingly good. The whole trip felt organised and the Hyderabad sightseeing on the last day was a nice wrap up.
mera aur meri patni ka trip tha, humne pehle kabhi south India ka temple tour nahi kiya tha to thoda unsure the shuru mein. lekin overall experience bahut accha raha. Hyderabad se Srisailam tak ka safar lamba zaroor tha but raste mein forest area dekhne layak tha. temple mein darshan achhi tarah hua, zyada bheed nahi thi november mein. hotel comfortable tha, khana bhi theek accha mila. Trip bada hi well planned tha aur guide ne temple ke baare mein achhi jaankari di.
Family trip with my husband and our son, done during the monsoon season so the Nallamala forest looked really lush and green through the drive, quite a pleasant surprise. Rain caused a short delay reaching Srisailam but nothing serious. Darshan at the temple was smooth, done early morning slot before the crowd picked up. Hotel stay was comfortable. Local food was good, tried a proper Andhra meal with multiple curries. Overall a well organised short trip, would consider recommending to friends looking for a quick pilgrimage break.
Went as a couple, mainly wanting a quiet weekend getaway with some spiritual value attached. Srisailam delivered on that front, the temple surroundings and the nearby ghats gave a calm feeling away from usual city noise. The drive both ways is long, close to five hours each side, so be prepared for that. We broke the journey with a tea stop which helped. Hotel was modest but clean and close enough to walk to the temple. Food options were limited in the evening but breakfast was good. A decent short trip overall for couples wanting something low key.
Went with two friends, more of a cultural trip than strictly religious for us but the temple itself was impressive to see. The drive is genuinely long, almost the whole day gets used up in travel both ways which we didn't fully account for. Srisailam town itself is small but has enough eateries for a decent meal. We liked walking around the ghat area in the evening, fairly quiet. Hotel was okay, nothing fancy. Third day Hyderabad sightseeing covered Charminar and a couple of other spots which was a nice addition before heading back.
My husband and I are not particularly religious but wanted to experience Srisailam for its history and setting. The temple complex is quite grand and the whole atmosphere around it has a certain calm to it. The long drive from Hyderabad tested our patience a little, especially on day one, but the scenery through the Nallamala range made it bearable. We stayed at a simple hotel near the temple which suited our needs. Food was decent though limited in variety for non-locals. Sightseeing back in Hyderabad on the final day gave a nice contrast to the quieter pilgrim town.
Dussehra holidays lo daughter tho Srisailam vellam. Festival season kabatti temple lights chala beautiful ga unnayi, darshan kuda special ga anipinchindi. Kaani normal weekdays tho compare chesthe crowd ekkuvaga undi, waiting time kuda konchem tiring ga anipinchindi. Temple tarvata Krishna river ghats daggaraki walk chesam, akkada konchem peaceful ga anipinchindi. Hotel daggara small local restaurant lo Andhra food chala tasty ga undi, spice kuda proper ga undi. Daughter ki temple architecture chala nachindi. Main issue enti ante Srisailam lo network connectivity weak ga undi, emergency calls or updates kosam konchem difficult ayyindi. Overall trip okay, but festival crowd valla experience konchem tiring ga anipinchindi.
This was a family trip with my husband and two teenage kids. The temple visit was the highlight, the architecture and the atmosphere around Mallikarjuna temple was quite moving even for my kids who are usually not very interested in these things. We also managed a short visit to Srisailam dam which they enjoyed more honestly. Food options near the temple were limited but decent. Vehicle provided was comfortable for the long drive. One thing I'd mention is that day three felt a little packed with less time for shopping in Hyderabad. Still a good trip for a short pilgrimage break.
Ente wife-um njanum randuperum retired aanu, so ee short tripinte pace njangalkku mostly comfortable aayirunnu. Srisailam visit aanu main purpose, and temple aduth stay cheythath kond surroundings calm aayirunnu. January weatherum nalla pleasant aayirunnu, darshan queue-ilum valiya heat undayilla. Car comfortable aayirunnu, but Hyderabad-Srisailam drive randu side-um kurachu long and tiring aayi thonni. Hyderabad city tour last day evening flight undayath kond slightly hurried aayi, especially eldersinu athu kurachu tiring aanu. Food overall good aayirunnu, mostly South Indian thalis. Spiritual break enna nilayil satisfying trip aanu, but kurachu more relaxed timing undayirunnenkil experience iniyum better aayene.
First time visiting a temple in Andhra Pradesh, but honestly the trip was more tiring than I expected. Coming from Kolkata, the food was quite different and much spicier than what we are used to, though I did try a few local dishes. The forest drive was scenic but very long, and after some time it became tiring. Darshan was organised well, but the overall visit felt a little rushed. Hyderabad sightseeing on the final day was okay, but we only had a short time at Charminar before leaving. I felt there should have been more time at Srisailam itself instead of trying to fit everything into a short schedule. the trip was manageable but not as comfortable or enjoyable as I had hoped.
Nearest railway station to Mallikarjuna Srisailam is Markapur Road Railway Station, located around 85 km away. From there, travelers can take a taxi or bus.
The Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga Temple is in Srisailam town. Once you reach Srisailam, the temple is easy to reach just by walking.
Yes, you can touch the Srisailam Lingam but only if you have a special ticket or special permission from the temple authorities. Otherwise, devotees can have darshan from outside the sanctum.
Photography is not allowed inside the sanctum of the temple but you are free to take pictures of the temple and its outside surroundings.
Best time to visit Srisailam is from October to March when weather is pleasant, perfect for temple visits and sightseeing comfortably.
Yes Sikharam Hill is manageable for most visitors. Wear comfortable shoes, take breaks and enjoy the beautiful views on the way.
Yes one day is enough to visit the main temples in Srisailam like Mallikarjuna and Bhramaramba but two days are better for sightseeing comfortably.
