Amarnath attracts millions of devotees from all over India and abroad. The most wondrous thing about this holy shrine is the ice lingam that renews itself each year. The Cave, located at the end of the Lidder Valley, is reached after an arduous trek and if one were to undertake the journey by road, it would take time and would be tough. One of the easiest ways is to go by helicopter and complete it in 2 nights and 3 days. A typical Amarnath Yatra by Helicopter Itinerary would be as follows:
Day 01: Srinagar – Sonmarg
Fly into Srinagar and our Namaste India Trip representative greets you and transfers you to a waiting coach that will take you to Sonmarg at a distance of 100 km. The 3-hour drive is pleasant, taking you across the scenic countryside. Check into your room and enjoy a peaceful night’s rest in the cool environment of this delightful resort.
Day 02: Sonmarg – Baltal – Panchtarni – Amarnath – Panchtarni – Baltal – Srinagar
Enjoy an early morning breakfast after which you immediately board a coach to drive to Baltal helipad. Here yatris board a helicopter bound for Panchtarni. From Panchtarni all yatris travel on foot for 2 hours to reach the sacred cave. You have to stand in a queue but with a helicopter yatra, you receive special passes to cut short the time. After darshan of the Lord, you return to Panchtarni and aboard the helicopter for the return ride to Baltal. From Baltal everyone proceeds to Srinagar. After a little bit of rest and refreshment, you set out on a local sight-seeing tour to the Dal and enjoy a lovely Shikara ride. As the sun sets you to retire to the houseboat where you will be spending the night.
Day 03: Srinagar Yatra ends
You are treated to a hearty breakfast and assisted for your departure as the yatra ends today.
