Kailash Mansarovar Yatra from Lucknow

Our trip will begin from Lucknow, the beautiful capital city of the most populous state in India. We will pick you up from a pre-determined location in Lucknow. From here, you will be on your way. Our first stop? Nepalgunj.

From Lucknow, you will embark on a 4 to 5-hour ride (depending on the weather and road conditions) in an AC coach. As soon as we reach Nepalgunj, you will be immediately checked into your hotel rooms for an overnight stay. Rest for a fun journey tomorrow.

The second day of our Kailash Mansarovar Yatra will see us wake up early in the morning. The reason? To catch a flight from Nepalgunj. This flight (40 to 50 minutes in duration) will whisk you away towards the mountainous town of Simikot. Here, we will take a short break, allowing our traveling party to stretch their legs, breathe in the fresh air, and spend a few hours allowing the body to acclimate to the new height.

Later, we will embark on a Helicopter ride (10 to 20 minutes in duration) that will take us swiftly to Hilsa. Then, we will move towards the Tibetan town of Purang, where we will settle into comfortable accommodations for the night.

You will spend a vital day in Purang to acclimatize to the altitude of the place. The third day of the Yatra is free for you to do as you wish. You can even stretch your legs with a short preparatory trek of the upcoming Mount Kailash Parikrama.

You can alternatively explore Purang’s bustling shops - the choice is yours. We do recommend an early night as tomorrow is going to be a huge day on our tour.

On this day, we will board a comfortable AC Volvo Bus for the scenic journey from Purang to Mansarovar Lake. This will be a significant day of this trip and will see us wake up early in the morning.

As soon as we reach the Mansarovar Lake, we will begin our Parikrama. This drive will cover around 105 km and will take around 2 to 3 hours of the day. You can take a dip in the holy waters of the Mansarovar Lake and perform a puja. During the trip, you will also catch a glimpse of the divine Mount Kailash.

We will stay overnight at a Guest House near Lake Mansarovar. And if the weather permits, we will even return to the Mansarovar Lake in the night or early morning the next day.

The halfway mark of our trip will see us wake up in the early morning for a possible visit to the Mansarovar Lake. After that, we will move towards our base in Darchen. This place will serve as our base for the sacred Mount Kailash Parikrama. We will also visit Ashtapad if we get the permission from the Chinese authorities.

Darchen serves as your resting point for the night, offering hotel accommodations as you prepare for the spiritual and physical challenges of the pilgrimage ahead.

Today, we will begin our Parikrama of Mount Kailash.

Our traveling party will arise with the dawn and embark on a short drive to Yamdwar, which is the gateway to the sacred Parikrama around Mount Kailash. First, we will begin a 10 km trek, which will allow us to see the North Face of Mount Kailash.

Now, do keep in mind that the Parikrama of Mount Kailash is an optional offering of this trip. Those who choose not to trek can return to our base in Darchen for a two-night stay. From Darchen, you can gaze upon the majestic Mount Kailash throughout the day. We will reunite with them on day 8.

We will continue our Parikrama of Mount Kailash today. We will cover the most demanding part of the Kailash Parikrama, a 22 km trek from Dirapuk towards Dolma La Pass, on this day. At the end of this trek, we will ascend to a breathtaking height of 18,600 feet.

The first 6 to 7 km of this trek is quite steep, so brace yourself and rest when needed. Beyond Dolma La Pass, the path descends to Gauri Kund. We will also encounter Shivasthal on our journey. As the sun begins to set, we will take shelter in a lodge.

Day 8 of our tour will see us complete the final 8 km of Mount Kailash Parikrama. Later, we will return to our base in Darchen, where we will meet up with the fellow travelers who stayed behind. Together, our traveling party will move back toward the beautiful town of Dongba for an overnight stay. This is officially the beginning of our return leg.

Day 9 is the final day of our Kailash Mansarovar Yatra tour.

We will get up with the rising sun in Dongba and then embark on a scenic drive back to Hilsa. From here, we will take to the skies once more as a helicopter will take you back to Simikot. We will take a flight back to the town of Nepalgunj from here.

Finally, we will move towards the city of Lucknow, carrying with us the memories that we have created on this journey. In Lucknow, our representatives will ensure a seamless transfer to your journey ahead!
