Chardham Yatra Package from Rishikesh
Day 1 : Arrival in Rishikesh
- Arrival at Rishikesh via road or rail
- Check-in to the pre-booked hotel
- Visit Ram Jhula, Laxman Jhula, and nearby ashrams
- Attend the evening Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat
This is a rest and spiritual preparation day. It is recommended that pilgrims not eat heavy food and have enough sleep since the yatra will require long journeys. Rishikesh assists believers in mental and physical training to be ready to undertake the holy Char Dham voyage.
Day 2 : Rishikesh to Barkot (220km/7-8 hrs)
- Early morning leaving Rishikesh.
- Drive through Mussoorie and Kempty Falls.
- The Yamuna River is seen on the way.
- Arrival and an overnight in Barkot.
Barkot is a serene town which comes at the foot of Yamunotri. The drive provides mesmerizing Himalayan sceneries and green valleys. It is recommended that pilgrims remain hydrated and should acclimatize since the altitude only gradually increases this way onwards.
Day 3 : Barkot to Yamunotri and Back (36 km drive and 6 km walk)
- Drive to Janki Chatti
- 6 km walk to Yamunotri Temple (pony, or palki may be used)
- Holy dip in Surya Kund
- Darshan of Goddess Yamuna
- Go back to Barkot and spend the night.
The first of the Dhams is Yamunotri. The walk is a spiritual and scenic journey, which traverses through waterfalls and thick vegetation. Religionists are of the opinion that a bathing in Yamuna removes sins and eliminates premature mortality.
Day 4 : Barkot to Uttarkashi (100km / 4 hours)
- Breakfast and departure Barkot.
- Go up the Yamuna and Bhagirathi rivers.
- Tour Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Uttarkashi.
- Overnight stay in Uttarkashi.
Uttarkashi is referred to as Kashi of the North. The town has great religious significance and it became one of the resting places before Gangotri. Pilgrims also relax in the peaceful setting before the next destination, which is of high altitude.
Day 5 : Uttarkashi to Gangotri and Return (100km round trip)
- Early morning drive to Gangotri
- En route stop at Gangnani hot springs
- Darshan at Gangotri Temple
- Visit Bhagirathi Shila
- Return to Uttarkashi
River Ganga, which is the most holy river in India, originates at Gangotri. Peaceful environment and snowed mountains give an atmosphere of divinity. Templars pray and perform rituals to gain blessings from the goddess Ganga.
Day 6 : Uttarkashi to Guptkashi (220 km / 8 - 9 hrs)
- Long scenic drive through Tehri and Rudraprayag
- Views of Mandakini River
- Arrival at Guptkashi
- Visit Ardh Narishwar Temple
- Overnight stay
Guptkashi is a major place of stop before Kedarnath. The town has alluring mountain scenery and spirituality. Here, it is imperative that one have a healthy rest since the Kedarnath trek is physically demanding.
Day 7 : Guptkashi to Kedarnath (30km roadway and 18km walk)
- Early morning drive till Sonprayag.
- Trek to Kedarnath (pony, palki, helicopter optional)
- 12th Parking in Kedarnath Temple: Darshan in the evening.
- Overnight stay near temple
The most important Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva is called Kedarnath. The temple is in the midst of snow-clouded mountains and it provides a unique spiritual environment. The difficult journey makes devotion and faith stronger.
Day 8 : Kedarnath to Guptkashi
- Early morning Abhishek Puja
- Return trek to Sonprayag
- Drive back to Guptkashi
- Overnight stay and rest
The pilgrims spend this day imbibing the mystical power of Kedarnath before the descent. The journey back gives one thought and appreciation of accomplishing one of the most religious pilgrimages in Hinduism.
Day 9 : Guptkashi to Badrinath (190km /7-8 hrs)
- Drive via Joshimath
- Visit Narsingh Temple
- Arrival at Badrinath
- Evening Aarti at Badrinath Temple
Badrinath is devoted to Lord Vishnu and the last Dham in the yatra. The temple is located between Nar and Narayan mountains and it has great religious significance and is the source of divine peace.
Day 10 : Badrinath to Rishikesh (300 km / 9 - 10 hrs)
- Morning darshan and Tapt Kund bath
- Visit Mana Village, the last Indian village
- Drive back to Rishikesh
- Yatra concludes with blessings
The pilgrimage process back is the completion of the sacred Chardham Yatra. The pilgrims walk away with spiritual fulfilment carrying with them lifetime memories and Godly blessings.
